The final of the 2017 Ghana’s Strongest reality show took place at the Achimota Retail Mall on Sunday as four contestants battled for the ‘Strongest Man of the Year’ belt.
Supporters and fans were at the venue in their numbers, chanting and cheering their favourite athletes.
Damien Smith, Godfred Akolbila, Mustapha Arhin and Ahmed Boakye showed up with their ‘A’ game determined to win the title as the next ‘Ghana’s Strongest’.
The competition started with the Dead Lift event. Damien emerged winner hands down with 10 lifts, which weighed a total of 2,60okg.
It was followed by Tyre Flip, which weighed 250kg – and, again, Damien won with eight flips with Ahmed coming second with six flips.
The next event – Clin and Jeck – saw Mustapha Arhin alias Mayweather winning with two flips.
The competition ended with the Car Pull, which was won by Damien Smith.
When all was said and done, Damien Smith emerged overall winner, taking home GH¢12,000.
Godfred Akolbila came 2nd, taking home GH¢7,000 with Ahmed Boakye and Mustapha Arhin following in 3rd and 4th respectively. They also took home GH¢5,000 and GH¢3,000 respectively.
All the finalists took home hampers from Miksi Choco and were awarded certificates as well.
