Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been flown to the United Kingdom after series of tests by his doctors.
The vice president was taken ill on Friday.
A statement from the presidency on Saturday said his doctors referred him to specialists in the UK “for further observation”.
He was, as a result, flown to London in the late hours of Friday, the statement said.
“All arrangements to secure the best of medical care have been done by the government,” the statement signed by Director of Communications at the Flagstaff House Eugene Arhin said.
It asked the public to join in prayers for Dr Bawumia, hinting that there is no cause for alarm.
“The general public is informed to allay their fears and rather join in prayers for the Vice President.”
