Serial callers of the New Patriotic Party in Ashanti region have called off their strike a week after they embarked on the action to protest against leadership of the party for their poor treatment.
The group, who form the Volunteers Media Communicators, last week, burnt their mobile phones to protest what they claimed to be their neglect by the party leadership.
According to them, NPP government has not been able to find them jobs irrespective of their struggles to defend the party on radio and TV talk shows. For the last week, they stopped calling-in on radio and TV discussions to defend the party.
But on Wednesday they rescinded their decision and explained it was necessitated by measures put in place by the leadership of the party to resolve their concerns. At a news conference to announce the end of the strike, chairman of the group, Abel Anokye, said the executives of the party have met with them on their concerns and things are far advanced to resolving the matter.
He said they find it prudent to end the strike since they believe their concerns will be resolved.
On behalf of the members of the group, he apologised to President Nana Akufo-Addo and the executives of the party for any inconvenience their actions have caused.
