Controversial dancehall artiste and leader of the Shatta Movement, Shatta Wale, has taken an early lead in the 20the edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ongoing at the new dome in Accra.
Shatta Wale’s hit song ‘My level’ emerged as the Highlife Song of the Year, beating KiDi’s Thunder, Kwesi Arthur’s Woara, King Promise’s CCTV and others.
His ‘gringo’ also came top of competition as the Reggae/Dancehall song of the Year, outdoing Maccasio’s Dagomba Girl, Stonebwoy’s Top Skanka and Samini’s Obaa.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Arthur, Diano Hamilton, Guilty Beatz and others have all made it in the winning list so far.
