Thirty-two members of staff at the Tamale Teaching Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19
The number comprised 19 doctors,12 nurses and 1 orderly.
The Director of Medical Affairs at the hospital, Dr. Abass Adam confirmed, 32 health workers from the facility have tested positive for the virus.
He said some of them have been treated and discharged while others were still on admission.
One person is also in a critical condition.
Asked if the other staffs who came into contact with the staffs who tested positive have been quarantined, Dr Abass had this to say.
“All 80 staffs who came into contact with their colleagues who unfortunately tested positive for covid – 19 had their results being negative ”
Northern Region has recorded 163 cases of the COVID-19 pandemic from March to July 5.
Out of this number, 120 representing 73.6 percent have recovered or discharged with 39 active cases.
The Tamale Teaching Hospital serves as a referral and isolation center in the region.
