Some relatives of persons who died of Covid-19 say they were left stranded at the morgue following a decision by AMA burial team to boycott the exercise. At least two families at the Ridge Hospital in Accra agitated for over two hours.
A representative of one of the families told 3news.com the burial of their dead relatives was scheduled for 9:00 am but as of 11: 00 am they had not heard from the AMA burial team.
He said they may be forced to abandon their dead and return to work if the officials failed to show up. However, 3news.com later learnt the burial team arrived after midday.
The Covid-19 burial team last week announced they would boycott the exercise if they do not receive their share of the incentives and allowances announced by President Akufo-Addo for frontline workers more than four months ago.
