Thomas Partey played his first game for Arsenal in the Premier League after joining them for £45 million from Atletico Madrid.
The 27-year-old replaced Granit Xhaka in the 83rd minute when Manchester City were leading by a goal – Raheem Sterling getting the only goal of the game.
Partey made a much talked about debut despite only joining up with the Arsenal team on Tuesday.
Partey will be waiting for his first full cap for the Gunners when they host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.
