David Moyes is in discussions with Everton regarding a potential return to Goodison Park after the club decided to sack manager Sean Dyche.
Although a deal is not finalised and Moyes is not the only candidate, sources close to the situation suggest that the former Everton boss is the frontrunner. Contract negotiations are expected to continue on Friday.
Dyche was dismissed on Thursday with Everton languishing in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.
The club has won only three of their 19 league matches this season, leaving them in a precarious position.
Moyes, who managed Everton from 2002 to 2013 before his ill-fated move to Manchester United, has had two spells at West Ham, leading them to the Europa Conference League title in 2023. He has been out of work since parting ways with West Ham last season.
In a recent statement, Moyes expressed that he is not ready to retire from football management but claimed he does not want to take on a job where he would be “fighting relegation.”
