The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas, Judith Adjobah Blay, has said that she is poised to cut waste to make the company more sustainable and productive.
She has therefore urged the Management team to exude the needed commitment and support her to achieve this objective.
Mrs Blay said this when she hit the ground running with familiarization visit to the company’s operational headquarters at Allabokazo in the Ellembelle District for a face-to-face meeting with the management.
Here, she emphasized the importance of cutting waste and optimizing operations to benefit Ghana as a whole.
“We’re optimistic about increasing production, which will, in turn, boost our inflows and enable us to operate efficiently. To achieve this, we must adopt a cost-cutting approach, focusing on sustainable business practices that benefit everyone. This may require short-term sacrifices, such as streamlining our operations, but ultimately, it will ensure our long-term viability”.
“Our goal is to maintain, if not improve, our current compensation levels while promoting a culture of resourcefulness and responsible resource management. Any cost-cutting measures I implement will be strategic decisions aimed at ensuring Ghana Gas’ sustainability, rather than mere individual actions,” she said.
The Acting CEO called on the Management team to remain committed to the company’s mission and the nation’s interests, rather than showing loyalty solely to her.
“I’m here because I believe in our team’s capabilities. When people hear our story, they’ll recognize our potential. To take it to the next level and spearhead the construction of our second phase, I’m willing to go the extra mile”.
“I’ll engage with stakeholders, negotiate, and make tough decisions, but first, I need your assurance that you’re committed to delivering results with integrity and loyalty to Ghana Gas, not just to me. Remember, your allegiance is to the company and the nation, not individuals.” she said.
She also paid a working visit to the Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson.
During the visit, Joseph Nelson reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Ghana Gas Company’s initiatives aimed at driving necessary improvements due to the pivotal role Ghana Gas plays in Ghana’s energy generation.

He pledged his support to help bring about necessary improvements to the company, demonstrating the government’s commitment to the growth and success of Ghana Gas.
“Ghana Gas plays a vital role in our energy generation, and I believe you have a critical task ahead of you. I’m confident that you can drive the necessary changes to positively impact the system.”
“As Regional Minister, I assure you of my support, as our collective goal is to enhance the system and bring improvements to the Western Region and Ghana as a whole. I look forward to collaborating with you and your team to achieve this vision and boost the regional and national economy,” he assured.
Mrs Blay also visited the Western Regional House of Chiefs, where she received a resounding vote of confidence from the chiefs. They praised her exceptional leadership skills, impressive track record, and extensive expertise in the energy sector.
The Acting CEO also undertook a comprehensive tour of the Ghana Gas facilities to gain in-depth insight into its operations.
During the tour, she received detailed briefings on the various processes and systems in place.

Additionally, she engaged with staff members during a meet-and-greet session, fostering a sense of community and open communication.
Her visit culminated in a durbar with local chiefs at Atuabo, further solidifying connections with the surrounding community.
