First National donates gas cookers to best teachers in C/R
Cape Coast, Oct. 15, GNA - First National Bank has donated ten quality gas cookers worth GH¢ 5,000.00 to the Central Region office of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to be given to selected best teachers in the Region.
The donation was in support of the Teachers’ Day celebration, held about a week ago.
Mr Andrew Gyawu-Mensah, Communications Officer of the First National Bank, expressed unhappiness that teachers were not accorded the needed recognition in spite of their important role in the society.
“It was for this reason that the Bank deemed it appropriate to motivate them” with its token donation, he said.
Mr John Hayford, Head of Planning and Statistics of the GES who received the cookers on behalf of the Award Planning Committee, thanked the Bank for the gesture and gave the assurance that it will be given to deserving teachers.
He was of the hope that the relationship between the Service and the Bank will be sustained and called on other stakeholder to assist the Service.
