Accra, March 9, GNA - Late Dancehall Artiste, Ebony Reigns, will be buried on March 24, at the Osu Cemetery, Mr Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) announced on Friday at a news conference in Accra.
The burial will be preceded by a funeral service at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on the same day.
The news conference held at the International Press Centre in Accra was attended by some family members of the late musician.
The funeral was initially scheduled for March 17 during the one-week celebration of the singer at Dansoman, in Accra, but the family later changed the date to March 24.
President Obour said the body of the late musician will be laid in state at the forecourt of the state house from 0500 hours to 0900 hours on Saturday, March 24.
This will be followed by a funeral service from 0900 hours to 11:00 hours, then the burial around midday.
He said the final funeral rights for Ebony will take place after the burial.
Mr Osei Kuffour said on Sunday, there would be an Interdenominational Church Service at the forecourt of the State House from 0800 hours to 1000 hours and will be officiated by Rev Dr Lawrence Tetteh, the renowned international evangelist and other Reverend Ministers, followed by the final funeral rites.
“There will be no wake-keeping and the attire would be Black and Red or the approved Funeral Cloth,” he added.
Dr Lawrence Tetteh said Friday March 16 will be the closing date for accepting tributes from the public, adding that, the tributes should reach the MUSIGA Office before the deadline.
Born on February 16, 1997, Ebony Reigns, known in private life as Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, died in an accident on Thursday, February 8, on the Sunyani-Kumasi stretch, at age 20.
Her death shook the nation with tributes pouring in from politicians, academia, the showbiz fraternity and well-wishers. Some of her colleagues have also released songs in her honour.
In the two years that she spent in the music industry, she won the heart of many Ghanaians releasing hit songs like: Aseda, Maame Hwe, Hustle, Sponsor, Date Your Father, Dancefloor and Kupe.
