Accra April 9, GNA - Two pupil teachers accused of defiling a nine year old female pupil at Adjiringanor have appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with defilement.
Prosper Fianke, 23, and Prosper Fiamordzi 19, pleaded not guilty.
The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku admitted them to bail in the sum of GH¢20,000.00 each with two sureties each to reappear on May 7.
Mr Edem Amadzor, a lawyer, who held the brief of Jennifer Enyan prayed for bail for the accused, saying at the appropriate time they would appear to prove their innocence.
Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, who held the brief of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Adolphine Dzansi, said the complainant who is self-employed, is a father of the victim. The victim is a class three pupil who also live with her parents at Adjiringanor.
Prosecution said Fianke is a pupil teacher in the victim’s former school at Adjiringanor and Fiamordzi is a labourer and former pupil also at the victim’s former school.
According to prosecution, Fiamordzi was also engaged by the complainant to teach the victim and her other three siblings at home but after teaching in October and November last year, his contract was terminated.
Prosecution said on March 31, this year, the complainant had a counselling session with his children, including the victim at home and educated them against sexual abuse and exploitation.
After the session, the victim then confided in the complainant that the two accused had had sex with her in the former school and at home.
The complainant reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) and a medical report form was issued to the victim to seek medical care.
Prosecution said when the two were arrested, investigations revealed that between October and November last year they both defiled the victim.
According to prosecution Fianke defiled the victim in a secret place in her former school while Fiamordzi defiled at her home whenever the victim’s parents were not at home and also in her former school.
