Dixcove (W/R), Aug. 20, GNA - Mr Simon Amoh, Regional Senior Manager of MTN, South West Business, has stated that the company was rooted in the African culture and would support any agenda that seeks to extol African values and culture.
The MTN, founded by a South African entrepreneur, over the years had supported in the areas of education, health care, entrepreneurship as well as in festivals that promoted the cultural values of the communities.
Mr Amoh gave the assurance when the company presented a cheque for GH¢2, 000.00, recharge cards worth GH¢500.00 cedis, MTN branded T-shirts, drink hampers and assorted souvenirs, towards the celebration of this year’s Kuntum festival at Lower Dixcove in the
Ahanta West District of the Western Region.
”We believe in projecting the African culture and we have come here to project our culture to the entire world”.
Mr Amoh said, “It is part of our core responsibility to give back to the society, we were here last year and we have come this year also”.
Nana Kwasi Agyemang IX, Chief of Lower Dixcove expressed appreciation to MTN for its continuos support towards the Kuntum festival and lauded the company for improved service delivery.
“MTN services has indeed improved drastically in the district and the Dixcove Township can now enjoy uninterrupted calls”.
This, according to him, has led to the springing up of MTN mobile money merchants in the area and has increased the number of subscribers in Dixcove.
