Accra, Nov. 13, GNA - Women In Sports Association (WISA), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), aimed at empowering girls and women in sports, has backed the female national teams competing in international football competition to succeed.
In a press release signed by Miss Rosemary Gaisie, President of WISA,it said there were fully behind the teams and expect them to go all out to bring glory and honour to mother Ghana.
The statement said, though much investment had not been put in the development and promotion of Women’s Football, both teams should not to be discouraged but be encouraged and self motivated to go on to the final and take the ultimate diadem.
“We know what you can do, we believe in you, you are champions in your own rights and you can make it for Ghana and Africa. Go all out and win. Never fear any opponent, but respect and live up to your names as the best of the best” they expressed.
WISA who recently rewarded some distinguished and famous sports women said they should play for themselves and feel proud in the national colours to go high and even beyond the skies.
The national under 17 female team, the Black Maidens are playing in Uruguay for the world cup, while the senior national team, the Black Queens will host the 2018 African Women Championship.
