Accra, Dec.08, GNA - The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has expressed confidence in Ghana's ability to ensure a drug-free 13th All African Games (AAG) to be hosted by Ghana in 2023.
WADA, which is the body responsible for overseeing a clean and fair play, devoid of cheating in the sports said, Ghana has a strong and solid bid request to host the rest of Africa and the world in 2023.
A statement signed by Mr. Rodney Swigelaar, WADA Africa Office said “I wish to congratulate the Republic of Ghana on the recent decision taken by the African Union Specialized Technical Committee (STC), to award the hosting right of the 2023 African Games to your beautiful country.
“Indeed your bid was very strong and I am very sure that the execution thereof in 2023 would be of just as solid,” he added.
The statement noted that the WADA is prepared to work alongside Ghana to ensure it delivered a successful event.
Ghana won the right to host the 13th All African Games in 2023 in October 2018 at the Algiers 3rd Specialized Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports (STC-YCS) Meeting of the African Union Commission Ministers Session.
