Old Ningo, (GAR), March 20, GNA - The National Commission for Civic Education in the Ningo -Prampram District has organized a quiz for four schools in the Old Ningo zone.
The quiz aims to promote the relevance of the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana to citizens.
Mrs. Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu, District Director, National Commission for Civic Education, said her outfit had demarcated the entire district into four zones which were: Prampram, Afienya, Dawenya and Old Ningo for the quiz competition.
She added that Prampram and Old-Ningo had had their turn with that of the other two zones pending.
According to Mrs Agyeiwaa Badu, it was imperative to ensure that students in the country where conversant with the 1992 Republican Constitution of Ghana
The constitution must be thought in the various schools and that the NCCE was ready to engage the citizens especially towards the forthcoming District Level Election as far as their civic responsibilities was concerned, she said.
A statement read by Mr. Simon Kpormego, District Staff Training Officer, on behalf of the District Director of Education, Mrs Beatrix Ollenu, said the current pace of lawlessness in some educational institutions were disappointing.
The District Director stated that students must adhere to strict compliance and must always be law abiding.
He divided the students to pay attention to their books and ask for assistance when faced with difficulties and must avoid gifts from unknown and suspecting individuals who could be part of the kidnapping ring or may have evil intentions.
The participating schools included Rosaphina International school, Old- Ningo D/A Basic A, Old-Ningo D/A Basic B and Old-Ningo Presby Basic A.
Old- Ningo D/A Basic A won the competition while awards were presented to the participants
The quiz was supported by the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NIPDA)
