Accra March 22, GNA - A 21-year-old labourer has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly having anal sex with an 11-year-old boy at Nungua.
Paul Oko is alleged to have told the victim that if he disclosed the act to any one, he would become daft in school.
The victim, however, could not bear the pain and revealed it.
Charged with defilement, Oko pleaded not guilty.
Oko is expected to reappear in the court presided over by Mrs. Rita Abrokwa Doko on April 4.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Judith B. Asante said the complainant is the mother of the victim.
Prosecution said the complainant, victim and the accused person reside in different vicinities in Nungua, Accra.
She said on March 16, this year, at about 1900 hours, Oko met the victim at a game centre in the area and sent him to purchase sachet water for him.
The prosecution said when the victim returned with the water, Oko lured him into his room and forcibly had sex with the victim through the anus.
Prosecution said Oko then warned the victim never to disclose the act to anyone else he would become daft in school.
Chief Inspector Asante said the victim kept the ordeal to himself but the subsequent pains in the anus was so excruciating that he told his mother about the pains but lied to her it was as a result of a fell from a tree.
The prosecution said this led to the mother to examine his anus and saw that the anus had become reddish.
Chief Inspector Asante said the complainant quizzed him further where he told her that Oko had anal sex with him.
She said the complainant took the victim to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service at Nungua to report the incident.
Prosecution said a medical report form was issued to the complainant to take the victim to the hospital for medical attention and after examination and treatment, a full report was written on the victim’s health status.
She said Oko was later arrested by the Police.
