Akwatia, Nov. 30, GNA - Madam Anna Obenewaa, aspiring Assembly member for Kwame Kuma Electoral Area at Denkyembour district says she would support the youth Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) programs to reduce youth unemployment in the area. .
She has therefore promised to mobilize the needed support for the youth in TVET when voted for, in the upcoming District Level Elections (DLE) and referendum scheduled for December 17.
Madam Obenewaa has called on all women in the area to throw their weight behind her by going to vote massively on December 17, for her to champion the concerns of the youth in the area through TVET.
Madam Obenewaa disclosed this in an interview with the GNA under its “Women’s profile” an initiative aimed at projecting women contesting positions in any national elections including the DLE and the Parliamentary elections in the Eastern region.
The 49-year-old farmer/Trader has been a unit committee member in the electoral area for the past 12 years and is competing with five men for the position come December 17.
She noted that most of the women were single parents therefore it was difficult educating their children and expressed the hope that she would be given the nod to champion the cause of women, children and the youth to improve the living standards in the area.
