The Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a wide ranging formal investigation into allegations of match fixing, bribery and corruption in football in the country.
The Ethics Committee has taken the decision to open the formal investigation in the wake local media reports raising questions about the sanctity of the game in the country.
Several club officials have been trading accusations in the media with some brazen with their claims that match fixing, bribery of referees and corruption is rife in the game.
The Ethics Committee says it will get to the bottom of the matter with this formal investigation.
"The formal investigation will be swift and thorough as those in authority who have made public and private statements about the issue will be invited to assist in the investigation," the statement from the Ethics Committee read.
"Officials who have made general and specific corruption and match fixing allegations will be invited while accused individuals will also be invited.
"The media and the general public are highly encouraged to assist the Committee with valuable information even on the condition of anonymity."
While insisting that officials of football clubs will be invited, the media and public have also been invited to bring information even if they don't want to be known.
"The Ethics Committee is actively seeking further information as no stone would be left unturned in the investigation," the statement read.
Ghanaian referee Lamptey was banned for life by FIFA early this year for match manipulation in the World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Senegal.
