Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda believes the Ghana Premier League possess much more quality than both the South African and the Nigerian Premier Leagues.
The Enyimba FC shot-stopper is convinced that after plying his trade in the South African Premier Soccer League and now playing in the Nigerian Premier Soccer League, the two leagues come close to the level of quality in the the Ghana League.
The former AshantiGold goalie, however, stated categorically that should the league get financial assistance from government and other cooperate bodies, the league could compete with the other major leagues on the continent.
” I believe if the clubs are supported financially the league will be lucrative. Most of us wouldn’t have gone to other African countries if there were support from Government and corporate bodies to our clubs," Fatau told HOT FM.
“This is what makes the Nigerian league better than ours. I miss the days we have the likes of Power FC, Ghapoha and other corporate teams in the league."
