Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko Jarvis Peprah has thrown his support behind Dr. Kwame Kyei in his bid to overhaul the club's management.
The Kumasi-based side struggled to impress in the first round of the 2017/18 Zylofon Cash Premier League before football in the country was halted following an undercover documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas that revealed massive corruption in Ghana football.
According to Mr. Amoako, Dr. Kyei who was appointed by life patron of the club Otumfou Osei Tutu II to lead the Porcupine Warriors after a difficult 2016 season under the Opoku Nti administration is resolute in making the club fearsome again.
Reacting to the comments by Mr. Amoako, Jarvis Peprah believes Dr. Kyei should go ahead with the plan if he feels some of them are not cooperating with his directives.
"If after two years of service they can't cooperate with Dr Kyei in propagating his ideas, he is right to sack them. Dr Kyei is answerable to Manhyia and will solely be invited for questioning if things go wrong. The fact that we were able to work with Mr. Herbert Mensah for four years isn't a guarantee he must also do same," he told Kumasi FM.
However, he insisted Dr. Kyei must be blunt with the management members if he no longer needs their services.
"It's worrying for him (Dr. Kyei) to be sidelining these men without having the courage to sack them. He must be straightforward to them; it is why most past management members leave with accumulated pain in their hearts. There must also be mutual respect, he must respect all his management members and it must be mutual."
There are criticisms of the management style of Dr. Kyei where many believe he has had problems with every department of the club but Mr. Jarvis Peprah wouldn't accept apportioning blames
"It may be a fact that Dr. Kyei is difficult to work with but it may also be that the commitment level and loyalty of some of his members are questioning. Let's not apportion blames."
Ending his submissions, Jarvis Peprah declares support for Mr. George Amoako to take over Kotoko chairmanship.
"George is capable of handling Asante Kotoko at anytime in raising the club to the standard of satisfaction of every supporter. He has all my support."
