Father of Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, Agya Asamoah has hinted that his son's return to the national team could be delayed by his club Inter Milan.
According to Agya Asamoah despite Kwadwo's call up for the Black Stars game against Kenya in the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 qualifiers, Inter Milan will determine if he will join the squad for the match.
Kwadwo Asamoah has been out of the team for four years but was named by coach Kwesi Appiah for the Kenya game after stating he was ready to return to the national team few months ago.
"Inter will determine if Kwadwo Asamoah will return to play for Ghana. He'll surely play for Ghana again but if Inter wants him to stay off a bit he'd heed to their call," Agya Asamoah told Sikka FM sports.
The 29 year old has been impressive in the summer for new club Inter Milan after joining from Juventus on a three year deal.
The former Juventus midfielder last played for the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup in the group game between Ghana and Portugal.
Kwadwo Asamoah's father also added the absence of his son from the Black Stars has nothing to do with the presence or absence of the Ayew brothers.
There has been speculations that the Inter star avoided the senior national team because of the brothers, which he has denied on several occasions.
"The presence/absence of the Ayews has nothing to do with Kwadwo Asamoah's presence/absence in the Black Stars team. He's had problems with injuries which affected his form & justified his exclusion," Agya Asamoah told Sikka FM sports.
