Bristol Rovers-owned Bernard Mensah has revealed he was keen on a loan move to League Two side Lincoln City.
He did not know about until a few days before the deadline.
Once he knew the Imps were keen, he wanted to move to Sincil Bank.
Mensah: ''It was probably a couple of days (before when he heard first), we (Rovers) had a game against QPR and I think it was after that that there was initial interest.
''Me and the manager spoke on Wednesday to see whether it was better for me to go out on loan.
''I said it was because I wasn’t playing as much as I wanted to for whatever reason and as soon as I got the go ahead from the gaffer I tried to push it through and luckily it got done on loan deadline day.''
