Swansea ace Andre Ayew has labelled Marcelo Bielsa “an incredible manager” amid reports linking him with a move to Leeds United
Ayew, 30, spent a year playing under Bielsa at Marseille before deciding to join Swansea in 2015.
He scored 11 goals in 29 appearances under the Argentinian, who resigned as a result of conflicts with the club’s hierarchy.
Bielsa, who then enjoyed brief stints with Lazio and Lille, is now striving from Premier League promotion with Leeds, sitting eight points clear of Sheffield Wednesday in second place.
And ahead of the January transfer window, he is being tipped to reunite with former star Ayew at Elland Road.
The Ghana captain is on fire for Swansea this term, with his two goals against Middlesbrough on Saturday taking his seasonal tally to nine.
When asked about the rumours linking him with a move to Leeds, Ayew told Canal Plus: “I am not aware of that. I don’t know anything. I don’t have any comment.
“I appreciate Marcelo Bielsa enormously. He is an incredible manager. We had a very very strong relationship at Marseille. And there you have it. That’s all I can say.
“But in terms of transfers. There will be more things that will be said, there have already been things that have been said.
“Like ‘he’s going there, he’s going there. He’s going to the Premier League, etc.’ I am not thinking about any of that. I am concentrating on what I have to do here.
“I receive so much love from the stadium, people, from the city, from the club, I am enjoying myself. I feel good.”
