VIDEO: New WAFA SC coach Prosper Narteh hails quality of squad

New WAFA SC coach Prosper Narteh Ogum says he has inherited a squad with the requisite know-how to beat every team in the Ghana Premier League.

The University lecturer-who holds a CAF License A coaching certificate, was hired just days before the start of the season.

He will lead the team on Sunday when they travel to Tarkwa to face Karela United FC.

''My expectations are very high because I have had the opportunity to watch the team train yesterday [Tuesday] and then this morning [Wednesday], and the quality of the players is just amazing. I can't describe it,'' Ogum said in his first interview.

''I mean, they are technically good, tactically very disciplined. And if you look at the aggression, their confidence, you see that it's up to a level that everywhere in the world when we go to soccer institutions or academies, you can compare to.

''The management and the coaches would have to be commended for a good job done.

''We can match every team in Ghana here so if we are able to work on the psychology of the players before training, and before competitions I think that will bring the difference between us and the rest.''

Nartey has become the first local coach- outside the academy's establishment-to be hired by the renowned soccer academy to handle their First Team.

Dutchman John Killa guided them to the Ghana Premier League in 2014 and left after two seasons.

He was replaced by Klavs Rasmussen from Denmark who led the team to second place in the 2017/2018.

Later, Patrick Liewig - formerly of ASEC Mimosas-was appointed but had to leave when the league ended abruptly because of the No.12 investigative piece by journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas.
