Leaders Semper Fi FC tightened their grip on the top of Access Bank Division One League Zone Three with a solid 2-0 victory over a determined Na God FC at the Teshie McDan Sports Complex on Sunday.
The result extended Semper Fi’s winning run to seven matches, with four clean sheets recorded in that sequence.
Emmanuel Adjei Laryea was the standout performer, scoring twice in 11 minutes. He broke the deadlock in the 65th minute before adding a second in the 76th to seal all three points, a display that earned him the Player of the Match award. Semper Fi now lead the table with 26 points from eleven matches.
Port City FC kept the pressure on at the top with a hard-earned 1-0 win over in-form Attram De Visser at the Tuba Astroturf on Friday. Bernard Quarcoo struck just two minutes after kickoff, capitalising on a quick pull-out to score the only goal of the match. The victory lifts Port City into second place on 24 points, two behind the leaders.
Former Premier League side Great Olympics recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Golden Kick SC at the Tuba Astroturf on Saturday. Islam Mohammed Kpare scored both goals, opening the scoring in the third minute before sealing the win late on with a well-taken header.
