German-Ghanaian forward Sirlord Conteh marked a major step in his recovery with an awaited return for FC Heidenheim, drawing applause from the home crowd and teammates.
The winger came off the bench in the 66th minute, replacing Marvin Pieringer, to register his first competitive minutes in weeks.
Conteh had been out for close to two and a half months after suffering a torn lateral meniscus, an injury that halted his momentum earlier in the campaign. His appearance against Bayern Munich signaled progress in his rehabilitation and offered encouragement to both player and club following a demanding period on the sidelines.
The match itself proved difficult for Heidenheim. At the Voith Arena, Bayern Munich claimed a commanding 4-0 victory to strengthen their grip on the Bundesliga title race. Goals in the first half from Josep Stanisic and Michael Olise set the tone, leaving the hosts chasing the game.
After the break, Luis Diaz and Harry Kane completed the scoring. Despite the result, Conteh’s return stood out as a positive moment, giving Heidenheim hope ahead of the busy weeks to come.
