Ayew scored a second-half equalising goal for Fenerbahce after Ryan Babel had given Besiktas the lead in the 40th minute to snatch a point for his side. Later, he lauded his teammates for fighting till the end of the game and immediately turned his focus to Fenerbahce's next game against Rizespor.
The 28-year-old attacker took to Twitter to describe the atmosphere for the derby against Besiktas as "incredible" and said his teammates did everything within their means to win.
"????????we really wanted a win in our stadium .. an incredible atmosphere ????we fought till the end and we will never give up. I thank Allah for this goal in my first derby???????? ???????? let’s prepare for Sunday ?? @Fenerbahce," he wrote on Twitter.
The Ghanaian's goal against Besiktas extends his goal tally to two in six matches after joining Fenerbahce ahead on a season-long loan deal from English Premier League side, Swansea.
Fenerbahce started the season on a poor note with three straight losses and are lying 13th on the log with seven points -- six points leaders Ba?ak?ehir.
