In a statement released by the mining firm, they noted their awareness of “congratulatory letters, purporting to offer various jobs at the company’s Damang mine (operated by Abosso Goldfields Limited).”
The mining company described the letters as a scam and admonished individuals who receive such to report to law enforcing agencies.
According to Gold Fields, “the letters also demand that payment of GHS487 be made by the supposed successful applicants as registration fee for a compulsory pre-employment seminar,” detailing that the firm does not under any circumstance require applicants to make payments.
