The Black Stars are now ranked 52 in the World but remain eighth in Africa.
Belgium tops the list followed by France, Brazil, Croatia, England and Portugal in that order.
Uruguay are seventh with Switzerland, Spain and Denmark placing eighth, ninth and 10th respectively.
In Africa Senegal top the list (24) followed by Tunisia (28), Morocco (43) Nigeria, (46), Congo DR (51) Ghana (52), Cameroon(56), Egypt (57), Burkina Faso (62) and Mali (65).
Newly crowned Asian champions Qatar have climbed to 55 gaining 38 places – and reaching their best position since 1993 – on the back of their stunning success in the UAE.
Qatar are not the only team to have ascended in spectacular style. Fellow finalists Japan (27) have also soared up the ladder, while Korea Republic (38), United Arab Emirates (67) and Jordan (97) registered double-digit gains.
There were also significant upwards moves by the likes of Iraq (80th, up 8), Iran (22nd, up 7) and Uzbekistan (89th, up 6). Read Full Story
