Movie producer Christabel Adomako fights child labour

A script writer and movie producer, Christabel Adomako Kye, has called on the Gender Ministry to have a toll free number for citizens to call and relay information about child labour.

Christabel who has started a campaign against child labour and the youth on the streets indicated that perpetrators of child labor must be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to other guardians who are involved in this act.

She later highlighted that this is in an attempt to curb the indiscriminate raise of child labour, streetism and school drop outs amongst the youth of this country.

“Getting the youth off the street must be taken seriously because they are faced with the possibilities of becoming armed robbers, prostitutes which will intend take a toll on the country” she added.

She hinted that she took food and music to the youth in the street along with a resource person to advice them to get off the street, learn vocational skills or go back to school” she added.

She entreats victims of child labour and street children to use their God given talents and all will be well.

She also sounded words of advice to parents of children in the rural or less privileged communities not to allow their wards to travel to the city in search of greener pastures.

Ms Christabel challenged all religious bodies to also take it upon themselves to help rid this country off this inhumane act for our creator acknowledges loving and supporting each other. Read Full Story
