About CAMP-G
The Catholic Association of Media Practitioners-Ghana (CAMP-G) is a network of Catholic professionals in various areas of communications in the country print, electronic, information technology, public relations, Advertising, publishing, film production, press photography, academia.
CAMP-G was established in 2003 to replace the Guild of Catholic Journalists. The change in name was to open the door to the participation of all Catholics in the Media under one umbrella to protect and defend the Church in Ghana.
The formation of CAMP-G was inspired by the recommendations of the Second Vatican Council Decree which urges the laity to play a prominent role in the affairs of the Catholic Church. It was also inspired by the role Social Communications plays as an effective tool in the propagation of the faith, through the Decree on the Instruments of Social Communications (Inter Mirifica). The formation was also guided by Chapter 12 from Articles 162 to 173 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. Read Full Story
