
The move comes at an interesting time for the power provider, following staff agitations over unpaid debts owed it by government institutions including Valco, ECG and NedCo.
In his new role, he will be responsible for adding some enthusiasm and vigour into GRIDCo’s engagement with the external public.
He brings on-board rich experience in stakeholder management, communications and media relations.
Ebenezer joins GRIDCo from Vodafone Ghana where he was the E Corporate Relations Manager responsible for all communications and stakeholder management.
The immediate past Vodafone communications boss has more than 13-years experience in the private sector. Earlier in his career, he worked as a journalist with Citi FM and as Corporate Affairs Manager at Standard Chartered Bank.
At Vodafone, where he spent five years, he worked under three CEOs and was a key hand in driving the External Communications, Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability units under Gayheart Mensah. He was instrumental in several innovative and creative moves by the company, including a repositioning of the company as the digital telecom thought-leader in the industry.
He was also critical in the advocacy for the LTE spectrum license and redefining a strategic direction for the Vodafone Foundation.
Eben who is a British Council Chevening Scholar looks forward to strengthening GRIDCO’s broader stakeholder engagement and management strategy and also wants to increase visibility, credibility and accurate understanding of the operations of the power authority.
