The controversial artiste manager and showbiz pundit, known in real life as Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson descended on the vice president and the president in an interview on 3FM which was monitored by GhanaWeb.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo is the worst performing leader Ghana has ever had, hence he (Nana Addo) should have resigned by now for failing to perform.
“We all know most politicians are liars but Akufo-Addo seemed or looked like he was going to be different. When he started his campaign and was talking and talking, you know, he is the worst president ever,” he told host, MzGee.
The President in the last few weeks subtly launched his campaign for re-election though the party is yet to elect a flagbearer.
The 4 More Years 4 Nana campaign appears to have suffered a hefty blow following the release of this year's CPI.
Corruption Perception Index: Ghana ranked 80 out of 180 countries
According to a report released by the Transparency International (TI), Ghana is ranked 80 out of 180 countries/territories on the 2019 global Corruption Perception Index, (CPI.
This year’s score of 41 shows that Ghana’s score remained the same compared to its CPI 2018 score (41).
Ghana performed better than 37 other Sub-Saharan African countries including Burkina Faso 40, Lesotho 40, Ethiopia 37, Gambia 37, Tanzania 37, and performed below 9 others.
In 2019, while Ghana performed better than Burkina Faso and Lesotho, Ghana could not catch up with countries like South Africa, Senegal, São Tomé and Príncipe, etc. that scored better than Ghana in 2018.
Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), a local chapter of TI, which released the report recommended that “Government must take a critical look at elements that promote public sector corruption including patronage, clientelism, nepotism and suspiciously close ties between politics and business.”
