The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has announced an additional one week extension of the partial lockdown of the Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi Metropolis.
The President made the announcement on Thursday during his 6th update on measures his government is taking to fight the novel coronavirus.
The affected areas were under a two-week lockdown, which was scheduled to end this Sunday.
The President further announced that government would absorb electricity bills for the vulnerable who consume less than 50kw in a month. It will also absorb 50% of all domestic and industrial bills.
