The Honorary Consul for the Republics of Seychelles and Trinidad & Tobago, Mr Hilton John Mitchell, has supported the Ghana Army with items worth GHC25, 000 to aid their fight against the global pandemic, Covid-19.
The donated items include alcohol-based hand sanitizers, tissue papers, face masks, Veronica-buckets among others and was presented on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Army Headquarters, Burma Camp-Accra.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) – Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah receiving the items, thanked the Honorary Consul for the kind gesture. He called for greater collaboration between the Army and public-spirited corporate institutions, towards the greater well-being of humanity.
Speaking to the press, the Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Army Headquaters – Brigadier General Michael Amoah Ayisi, stated that the items donated, would go a long way to enhance the operations of the Ghana Army, which have deployed personnel in the field and would need these things to sustain them.Brig Gen Amoah Ayisi said the items would protect the troops against any contamination.
