The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Joseph Mensah, has joined the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by extending a hand of help to the two hospitals located in his constituency.
He has donated hand sanitizers, tissues, Veronica Buckets and other materials for use by the two hospitals in the fight against the deadly coronavirus. The beneficiary hospitals are the Kwesimintsim and 2BN hospitals at Kwesiminstim and Apremdo respectively. The presentation by the Kwesimintsim Legislator comes exactly two days after he joined his colleague Legislators in Takoradi, Effia, Sekondi and Essikado-Ketan to make a huge donation of GHC10, 000 plus hand sanitizers, Veronica buckets and other materials to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
Making his own presentation to the two hospitals, Joe Mensah commended the hospital and the health workers for their readiness to fight the pandemic. The MP pointed out that the professionalism being displayed by health professionals in the fight against the pandemic was commendable.
Receiving the items, Mrs. Joyce Bagyina, Director of Health of Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) extended the hospital’s appreciation to the Kwesimintsim Legislator. Describing the MP as compassionate, she said, she was not surprised the MP had come to the rescue of the hospital by donating the aforementioned items.
The EKMA Health Director warned the public to take the pandemic serious. At the 2BN Apremdo Hospital, the MP reiterated why it was important for him to come and support the only Military hospital serving his constituents and others.
