The representative of Volta Region at the Council of State, Mr Francis Albert Nyonyo, through his Nyonyo Foundation has donated various items worth GHC400, 000 to the Ho Teaching and Keta Hospitals respectively as part of his contribution to help fight covid-19 disease.
The items include N95 Nose masks, surgical face masks, goggles, surgical gloves jumbo tissue, Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers among others.
Presenting the items to the Ho Teaching Hospital on behalf of Mr. Nyonyo, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, said the Council of State Member was aware of the sudden spread of the disease hence the donation.
Dr. Letsa who was hopeful that the support would go a long way to effectively reduce the spread of COVID-19, said the items were exactly what the facility needed to protect the people.
The Member of Parliament for Anlo, Mr. Kofi Humado on his part said Mr Francis Albert Nyonyo was much aware of the dangers COVID-19 posed to the development and health of the people in the region and commended him for the gesture.
Mr. Humado said the Nyonyo Foundation has set the pace for those who are rich in society to support the needy during difficult times stressing that some of the items, which would be taken to the Keta Hospital would help to prevent the spread of the pandemic in that part of the region.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr. Lord Graceful Mensah, who received the items commended the Council of State Member for the support through the Nyonyo Foundation and urged other individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture.
