The Ga Paramount Stool Dzaasetse, Nii Yoatey Oto-Ga II, has expressed his displeasure at the diplomatic community in the country and some statesmen for calling on who he described as an illegitimate Ga Mantse.
Nii Oto-Ga II was concerned at how the Columbia Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Claudia Torbay Quinturday, together with other diplomats, were led to call upon one Kelvin Tackie aka King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II by Charles Owiredu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson, Member of the Council of State, and Lawrence Tetteh, leader of World Miracle Outreach.
He said the development was unfortunate, since these are individuals who, to him, know better, especially with regard to Ga custom and tradition, and yet choose to ignore that.
In press statement issued by the office of the Ga Mantse yesterday, Nii Yoatey Oto-Ga II reminded these persons that if in case they had forgotten, the legitimate gazetted King of the Ga State is Boni King Tackie Adama Latse II, enstooled on June 11, 2011, and whose name was entered into the National Register of Chiefs in April, 24, 2015 and gazetted in the chieftaincy bullet Vol.2 No.1 November 2015. He is also a member of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs since 2017.
He appealed to the diplomatic community that if they have any challenge with who the legitimate traditional head of the Ga State is, the records are available for them to check, in order not to find themselves in the quarters of the wrong person.
To clergyman, Nii Oto- Ga II advised: “The Ga Paramount Stool Dzaase wishes to appeal to Dr Lawrence Tetteh to concentrate on his pastoral duties and stay clear off the Ga Paramouncy affairs.”
The Dzaasetse of the Ga Paramount Stool added that King Tackie Adama Latse II is the only Ga Mantse of the Ga State, and the State Protocol Department, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, is aware of it.
He said it is in this same capacity that the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Adama Latse II, is invited to attend state functions of the President, the Speaker of Parliament, and other dignitaries.
