Former Member of Parliament for Mampong, Francis Addai Nimoh has reaffirmed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not reneged on its promises, but the government only needs more time to fulfill them.
“Things do not just happen and I’m appealing to Ghanaians to give the party a bit more time since they have more years in power.
“Ghanaians should understand that establishment of factories will take time, even acquisition of land is very crucial, but the NPP has not departed from its promises.
“Every policy needs to be formulated, planned, implemented and evaluated, hence the final execution of the project may take quite some time.
“These things do not happen just overnight, let me take one-village-one-dam for instance, from my professional point of view, if you take one-village-one-dam for instance, we are looking at a dam that is well engineered.
“Government does not necessarily need to put up dams or factories in all villages across the country, but government can make one of the dams or factories a central point that serves neighbouring districts and towns.
“If we are able to build one huge dam that can serve all the districts in the Upper West Region, in my view, we have achieved it.
“It is not necessary to have small dams, you can build one dam that can cater for all the small districts, and the essential thing is that water is available, the one-district-one-factory is possible, and government is on course to deliver on its promises.
“The Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service and various stakeholders in charge of the free Senior High School (SHS) education under the President Akufo-Addo-led administration are taking measures to ensure the effectiveness and stability of the free SHS policy,” Mr Nimo assured. -3news.com
