Mr Owusu-Bio and Mr Owusu Afriyie with other Forestry officials inspecting the vehicles
As part of its support for made in Ghana products, the Forestry Commission (FC) has purchased four Kantanka double cabin pickups for its operations.
Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Commission, disclosed this in Accra on Wednesday when he jointly inaugurated the vehicles at a short ceremony at its Achimota head office.
He said the two Kantanka vehicles would be sent to the Western Regional office to facilitate the work of the Commission in the remote areas.
The Forestry Commission CEO called on other Ghanaians to support and promote Kantanka vehicles.
Mr Owusu Afriyie explained that, purchasing of the vehicles was borne out of the fact that, the President Nana Akufo-Addo has been an advocate of made in Ghana products and has shown exemplary leadership by wearing and promoting made in Ghana fabrics in the country.
He said, “as a people we need to promote made in Ghana products and in doing so will grow the local enterprises and the economy as well as create more employment in the country”.
Mr Owusu-Bio, Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources in his remarks indicated that beginning from next year, the ministry would ensure that agencies under it use more of the Kantanka vehicles.
