Joy News’ Justice Baidoo has been nominated for the 2017 Food Sustainability Media Award by the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Mr Baidoo’s story on Food Wastage in Ghana shot in the Brong Ahafo regional town of Techiman is one of the 18 stories shortlisted from hundreds of received applications.
The award, organized by the Reuters Foundation in collaboration with the Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition, would honour the eventual winner in an event to be held in Milan, Italy in December.
“This is one of the most respected journalism prizes in the world and so this recognition motivates me to do even more for development journalism in Ghana”, the reporter said.
Mr Baidoo is a multimedia storyteller with interest in health, education and food security among other development subjects.
The works produced by the finalists will also be put forward for the Best of the Web Award in which the public will vote for their favourite submission across six categories.
The voting for this opened on October 24, when the finalists were announced and will close on November 30.
