Famous Smartphone provider, Huawei, says it is doing more by way of increasing its market share on the competitive Ghanaian smartphone market.
As a result, the firm has released its new smartphone device - Huawei Y7 Prime, onto the Ghanaian market.
Speaking to JoyBusiness at the launch, Marketing Manager for Huawei Ghana, Dennis Fixon Laryea, said his outfit has identified an increasing desire for affordable smartphones in the country.
“After a very thorough investigation from our previous devices, from several PR platforms, we realized that customers want more,” he said.
“Unfortunately they can’t afford the very expensive devices so we said ok, let’s listen to them; let’s bring to them a device that can give better experience but at a lesser price,” Mr Fixon Laryea added.
Country Manager of Huawei, Simon Liu said, last year, the Huawei brand invested in excess of 11 billion euros beating the competition.
“In 2018, we invested 11.3 billion euros ahead of Apple, ahead of Intel and close to Samsung.”
He described Ghana as one of the brand’s key marketer in West Africa and China.
Y7 Prime specs
Even though the new Y7 Prime is similar to its predecessor; the Huawei Y, it comes with revamped features, a more appealing design, and great technology.
The new smartphone comes in different colours - black, gold, and blue. The device supports almost all connectives like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, 3G, 4G, and NFC.
The Huawei 7 Prime comes looking very attractive, sleek and stunning. It has a glass and aluminium build which gives it a classy and premium look.
The device features a thin bezel at the side with a nicely sized bottom and top bezel. The back is made of aluminium, with the camera at the top left corner.
This brand also features a large screen. It has a 5.99 HD display screen and a screen resolution of 1440 X 720 pixels with a 269 PPI pixel density that gives a crisp, sharp and bright colours, which, in turn, gives an amazing viewing experience.
The device features a rear camera with 12-megapixel. There are additional features like LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama.
There is the 8MP front-facing camera that captures beautiful selfies without spot. One of the distinguishing features of the Huawei Y7 is the strong battery capacity it possesses; it has a battery capacity of 4000mAh.
The operating system is great for a budget smartphone. Huawei Y7 Prime runs on an Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI.
The device is also powered by the Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 with Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 which runs up to 1.4GHz in clock speed.
There is also the Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The phone also features a 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage that can be expanded to 256GB.
