Northern Ghana giants, St Francis Xavier Junior Seminary have asserted their strength against their opponents in Tuesday’s National Science and Maths Quiz qualifiers, the last contest for the Upper West region.
WA: End of contest:
St. Francis Xavier: 35pts
St. Francis Girls' SHS: 17pts
Wa SHS: 14pts
Wa Tech. Inst: 03pts
Eremon SHS: -03pts

The all-boys Catholic school scored 35 points, 18 higher than the closest opponents St Francis Girls’ SHS.
The Wa-based school was ousted in 2018 by four-time winners, Prempeh College.

But before then, they had carved a niche for themselves by slaying the almighty Pope John’s Seminary who have won the competition once.
So far, Francis Xavier’s best run in the TV show has been two appearances in the Grand Finale in 2012 and 2014.
The boys can but hope that come June 2019, they would avoid too many heavyweights which would threaten their run.
Meanwhile, the regional qualifiers continue unabated.
