An Apostle with the Church of Pentecost has charged Christians to confront life in the full assurance that all power of every kind belongs to Jesus Christ, their Lord.
In his final Easter message Sunday, Apostle Mike Etrue pointed out to the congregation, the valuable implications of the Lordship of Jesus Christ as recorded in Ephesians 1: 18-12.
The Kaneshie Area Head explained, the risen Christ has been given a seat at the right hand side of the Father and is “ far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
He picked as a supporting scripture Philippians 2:9-11
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”.
He stressed that his present position of absolute authority is for the full benefit of the church, both personal and corporate.
“So this Jesus Christ who has called us to Himself is the head of all things. Can you imagine that?” he urged the congregation to consider their relationship with a priceless ally.
The Apostle said the early church was not unsure of their relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord.
“They knew whom they belongs to…they did not live in fear because He who was in them is above all”, he said and gave an example of Peter and John’s encounter with a crippled beggar at the temple gate as recorded in Acts 3: 3-6.
When the crippled beggar saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.
“Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!”5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
The healing of the beggar demonstrated the truth about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his Lordship over circumstances, Apostle Etrue explained.
Apostle Mike Etrue stressed the words of church patriarch Apostle Paul that if Christ had not resurrected from the dead, believers would have been the most pitiful of persons, holding on to a vain hope.
But since the opposite is true, Christians must be bold and fearless. He also pointed out that Jesus Christ following his resurrection and exaltation as Lord has also become the advocate for believers.
He said every client in a court case gets his confidence from his lawyer. Similarly, “we, Christians have an advocate, and his name is Jesus who never fails.”
“I want you to understand that somebody is interceding for you. His name is Jesus; He is not ready to give up on you, so don’t give up on Him”
The Apostle said Christians must feel safe in this world because as long as Jesus Christ remains Lord over their lives, death is as beneficial as life.
