Politics: Theresa May: We must defeat 'Islamist extremism' and stop the internet companies who give it 'the safe space it needs to breed'

LONDON — Prime Minister Theresa May, standing outside No.10 Downing Street, made a strong statement against “Islamist extremism” and internet services companies who offer them “the safe space it needs to breed.”

She spoke after a terrorist attack in London last night killed 7 people and injured 48 others. Three suspects were shot dead by police.

"It is an ideology that proclaims our western values of freedom, democracy and human rights are incompatible with Islam … it is a perversion of Islam and a perversion of the truth."

"Defeating this ideology is one the great challenges of our time."
