The Executive Chairman of JOSPONG group of companies lied to a Kumasi High Court when he claimed to have travelled to India.
Mr Siaw Agyepong was required to attend court on Wednesday April 18, 2018 in a matter in which he had been cited for the contempt of the court.
But when the case was called on 18 April 2018, Mr Siaw Agyepong was absent.
Counsel for the Applicant, Mr Kwame Adofo sought to make an application for Mr Siaw Agyepong’s bail to be revoked for failing to attend court but the court told him that it has on its docket a letter from KNUST stating that Mr Agyepong was part of a delegation to India for a waste Management programme.
However, the same evening of April 18, 2018, Mr Siaw Agyepong was on TV talking at an Environmental Services Providers Association (ESPA) in Accra at the time when the case was pending before the High Court.
Daily Graphic on the next day April 19, 2018 published a report on his attendance of the meeting where the Minister for Sanitation and Water resources Mr Kofi Adda was present.
It is unclear why Mr Siaw Agyepong would present a letter from the KNUST to the High Court stating that he was in India when he was in Accra.
Ultimate FM sources say that the Applicant was contemplating filing a motion to the court to revoke the bail of Mr Siaw Agyepong for him to be arrested.
