As the new season progresses, some Ghanaian players have found their feet in the respective competitions their clubs play in.
Some of these players played in the EFL Cup and others also played in UEFA Champions League play-off.
In the EFL cup competitions, Daniel Amartey stayed till the end of the game for Leicester City and put up high performance in the game.
The Foxes defeated the home side Sheffield United by 4-1 at Bramall Lane Tuesday night.
Jordan Ayew scored in the 86th minute for Swansea City to add to the three goals his side scored earlier in the game.
Milton Keynes Dons were defeated 4-1 by Swansea City.
Ayew played the entire duration of the game and aided his team progress to the next stage of the competition.
Premiership side Crystal Palace put 2 goals past Ipswich Town though the championship side had a consolation goal on the 90th minue mark. Ghana’s Jeffery Sclupp played 90 minutes for Crystal Palace in the game.
UCL qualifier
Patrick Twumasi’s two goals for Astana in the 49th and 69th minute was not enough to qualify his side to the group stage of this season’s UCL.
Twumasi’s club Astana defeated Celtic 4-3 but had already conceded 5-0 when they travelled to Scotland.
Celtic qualified with an 8-4 aggregate scoreline.
Joseph Attamah Larweh played 90 minutes for Istanbul Basaksehir as they drew 2-2 with Sevilla in Spain.
Attamah’s team failed to qualify for the group stage as they were defeated in the first leg 2-1 at their own backyard.
