Media personality and host of Stand Point Oheneyere Gifty Anti has revealed the secret to her career relevance and longevity, spanning over two decades.
Gifty Anti, on the ‘After Hours’ show last Friday on TV3, disclosed that her secret to career relevance over the years is constant self-improvement.
She told host Miki Osei Berko: “What I can say is I’ve tried very hard to be me, not to try and compete with anybody or try to imitate anybody but I try to be me and I keep adding value to myself. I am in competition with myself. Every time I ask myself, so what else can I do? I have done this for five years, so what is it can I do differently to rebrand myself, to make my program more exciting, to make me interesting, more relevant and more impactful. So every time I am finding ways of doing something new that will add value to me and the people I serve.”
The proud feminist, however, argued that the reason many careers die along the line can mainly be attributed to complacency.
“Most people get very complacent. ‘I have done this, I am already in the limelight, oh I am married’…No there is so much you can do. The scientists say we utilize just a fraction of our creativity, of our imagination, so there is always room for improvement. And what I find more exciting is when you keep motivating people, encouraging people, raising people to be even bigger than yourself,” she stated.
Gifty Anti is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her television show, ‘The Stand Point’ and will be honoured as one of the most influential 100 women on the continent in Nigeria.
