Seven school children are feared dead and several others injured in an accident involving a school bus and manganese truck at Dompin in the Western Region.
The injured have been rushed to Apinto Hospital and Tarkwa government hospital where they are said to be given emergency care while those in critical condition have been referred to the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital.
Some parents have thronged to the Apinto Hospital to identify and find out the condition in which their children are in but have been prevented by health personnel from entering the emergency centre due to the numbers.
The pupils of Learners’ Bridge School had closed from school and were being transported to their various homes in nearby communities when the accident occurred Monday.
Western Regional MTTD boss, Chief Supt Richard Appiah, confirmed the accident to Takoradi-based Connect FM but did not give details as the Police are yet to gather more information on the accident.
